Leasa first completed her 200RYT certification in 2015. That same year she became pregnant with her first child and began leading Prenatal Yoga classes. This was the moment she found her deepest appreciation for the practice; through empowering pregnant bodies and supporting people during their prenatal journey.
She continued her education to include Prenatal Teacher Training (85RPYT) in Jan 2019, under the guidance of Sasha Padron. In 2020 she completed 20hrs in Postnatal Yoga training, with Julia Forest & 30hrs in Yogic Meditation, with Taryn Diamond.
Leasa teaches at a number of studios across Ontario: including YogaSpace, Oona (Formally called West End Mamas, Drishti Yoga & Wellness, and Cedar and Sage.
Her classes take you through a combination of exercises, designed to optimize physical and mental alignment and encouraging overall growth. Her teaching style has been described as "creative, balanced, and fun!": This is not your traditional style vinyasa class. Although this class does focus on connecting the breath to your movements; Leasa takes you through a choreographed, hybrid style flow. Inspired by yoga, Pilates, and aerobics. Each posture is held for 1-5 breaths and then strung together by the beat of our breath. Expect use of props in every class. No two classes are alike.
Her classes also consist of restorative postures designed to help relieve common pregnancy aches and pains, meditation exercises to enhance connection with baby/self, and conditioning exercises, which strengthen and prepare pregnant bodies for labour.
Leasa is a Certified Sound Therapy Practitioner. She completed her Sound Therapy training through the Institute of Traditional Medicine [Toronto] and offers Crystal Bowl Sound Baths at the end of her classes, allowing for a deeper restorative state of relaxation by creating a healing environment for the nervous system and for baby.
Leasa is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT/RPYT) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS).
